Are you bent on
learning piano but cannot arrange for it easily. If you don’t have a
suitable time slot to devote to piano lesions then you must have come
across a proper introduction to learning to piano by ear through
different websites.
If you already have an introduction to
learning piano by the ear then you must have a clear idea what all it
is about. The question now arise, is it possible to learn to play piano
strictly by ear. Does this idea or the method really work?
Learning
piano by ears strictly means that you are able to hear the pitch, gage,
and quality of the chords with your ear. This essentially means that
you are able to understand the difference between the minor and major
chords, diminished and dominant ones. The problem is people generally
do not have such inborn capabilities.
Even the people who are
playing piano for quite long years sometimes cannot tell the difference
between the chords. These sites that give introduction to learning
piano by the ear suppose that people are able to identify these subtle
differences. These sites assume that these nuances piano are known to
the people. This approach of leaning the piano by ear should be closely
scrutinized. The person who is opting for such course should take these
points into consideration.
Since it is impossible to gain a
complete understanding by mere listening without any guidance, this
approach seems less feasible. A complete dedication is needed to learn
any musical instrument and guidance is also very important. This method
of learning by ear can turn out to be counterproductive.
Although
it is true that music comes to you by listening. Listening to good
music is quite essential to learn good music but listening alone is not
sufficient. Constant guidance is needed even when you listen. You need
someone with “good ear” to tell you about the subtle nuances of the art
of music.
If you want to go for a course of learning piano by
the ear then remember its limitation. You will learn to play piano by
these courses but you cannot master this art possibly by this method.
Introduction to learning piano by the ear can be a good option for the
people who do not have ample time to learn it conventionally but want
to try their hands at it. You can well try your hand at it but do not
expect too much from it also.
