If you desire to use an insole, you should get around a quarter hole of the insole cut and placed in the painful heel area to get relief from the pressure and pain.

Are readymade insoles really helpful?

Ready made insoles are successful in providing you some amount of temporary relief from heel pain in the events when you combine its use with some stretching and other forms of exercise using the arch and cord of the heel. However, it is essential to consult a podiatrist to bring permanent solution to the problem. Heel cups, however do not give you complete relief from the pain. If your pain is due to plantar fascia, heel cups might only be able to cure around 50% of your pain.

Use of ready made inserts should be made to get relief from pain and not as a permanent solution to the problem of heel pain. If used as a permanent solution, heel cups and insoles will only aggravate your problem of heel pain rather than improving your condition.

Ready made soles also fail to provide balanced support to your foot arch and hence do not solve the problem of heel pain. To continue your day to day activities with energy and to stay active, you should take appropriate care of your feet and should handle things with relative ease. Hence, it is only advisable to contact a podiatrist to give a permanent solution to your aggravating problem of heel pain.
